BACKSTORY
MAIN MODERN VERSE
At first glance, Jin Rulan is a spoiled, snooty brat. She's grown up surrounded by wealth, never wanting for anything, with people who adore her. She's arrogant, rude, and frivolous with money. On the surface, at least.
Under the surface, however, is a girl brimming with insecurity. Don't get her wrong, she has no need for superficial relationships like those developed in one class she shares with another student for one semester at a school she'll never return to after she graduated. But they help dull the loneliness sometimes.
Jin Lian yearns for approval, for affection and affirmation that she is loved and wanted, that she's desirable as a person. As a student, she faced years of ridicule; subtle, targeted harassment meant to wear her down. One student chose her as his main target, belittling and mocking how she was mean and "no one likes a catty bitch." How he said it made her unlovable.
Hiding it all inside, Jin Lian struggled, often hiding out in her room to cry in loneliness when she could get away, to wonder if she really was unlovable. When she wasn't hiding away, she was demanding more and more attention from those who were supposed to love her: her baba, her aunts and uncles, her cousins.
Whether it's true or not, whether she's unlovable or not, she's tried to leave that in the past, but her soft, tofu heart still stings from it often.POST CANON VERSE 🍋
Jin Lian, raised as Sandu Shengshou and Lianfang-zun's niece, is suddenly thrust forward as a sect leader, in charge of Lanling Jin. She's insecure, unprepared for leadership, and struggling with not only having to balance between responsibilities and new friends, but with coming to terms with what happened.
Jin Guangyao was her uncle. A beloved uncle, who loved her, and cared deeply for her. She feels like the world expects her to hate him, but she finds herself struggling with the reality that she mourns for him. Not only is she in mourning for her uncle, but also her aunt Qin Su, her cousin Rusong again, and for the uncle she childishly pushed away, who was in so much pain that his only option was to die.
She's coming to terms with having to take control, with her grief and emotions, and wonders how anyone in the Jin sect would ever listen to her. But she's also the beloved niece of the fearsome Sandu Shengshou, and he didn't teach her to back down.OTHER VERSES

PLOT IDEAS
If you're struggling to think of a plot for them, but still want to RP with her, or if you want to fulfill some of the plots I would love to play out in threads, I've listed a few ideas below! If you like one, DM me and we can figure out if we can make it work!**Also, if you have any ideas you have that you want to play out, this is blanket permission to just drop them in my DMs without warning.
Into The Unknown! - (Potential ship plot, maybe just crack) - Accidental body swap! Preferably with a male muse so she can freak the FUCK out over suddenly having a completely different body, but somehow, in one of her cultivation classes, a talisman went horribly wrong! Now, when she wakes up the next morning, she's no longer in her body! They have to figure out how to swap back! (Hint: it does it by itself after a week.)
Taming the Brat - (SHIP PLOT, BDSM, likely NSFW in DMs) - Jin Lian is a brat, let's face it. She's used to getting her way without having to actually say what she wants, because if she pouts and whines enough, people give in. For this plot, I'd like it to be an older muse, who's familiar with BDSM and brat taming. Pushing Jin Lian out of her comfort zone, making her use her words to get what she wants is extremely difficult for her, the words feel like they're choking her, but once she fights passed it and blurts out what she wants, she's praised and then gets exactly what she asked for (exactly, no more and no less, even if she whines. because giving more would defeat the purpose of making her say it, and giving less would make her feel frustrated).
Finding Friends! - (PLATONIC, building friendships!) - As much as I LOVE established friendships, I'd love to do a slow build friendship too. Jin Lian is guarded and protective of her feelings after being bullied and belittled in school prior to university. In this plot, it would be her slowly come to terms that by trying to get close to her, (muse) is actually genuinely trying to be her friend, and isn't being mean or hoping for something that they can use as leverage against her in the future. And she... might need them more than she pretended. It's nice to sit with someone for lunch.
Kidnapping attempt! - (DARK, NOT MAIN VERSE, this would be a side verse idea. If this plot is not done with a WWX muse, it will likely be not-WWX-friendly, and mod would tag as such if it appears on the TL, though this plot can be strictly kept in DM) - This plot would be exploring darker themes, like kidnapping, accidental murder, family issues, trauma, etc. It would be Jin Lian working through her issues, or, if done with a WWX muse, exploring further traumatizing. For this verse, her backstory would be: [When Jin Lian was a few months old, her mother's adopted brother had a psychotic break and during a hallucination, he killed her. Violently. Jin Lian was asleep in her bassinet, and when her father got home that night, it was to a horror scene of blood and a crying daughter. Fast forward, her adoptive uncle is trying to prove he's well again and in doing so, knows he needs to get through to his brother-in-law somehow. To do so, he attempts to kidnap Jin Lian as leverage to prove to them he's mentally stable.]
